*Students will only be billed for the actual number of credits
they take. The costs shown reflect the billing of the complete
course load. If a student transfers courses, or receives advanced standing,
tuition will be adjusted accordingly.
**The cost of the HDFS 129 course taught in the fall term of the second year, is included in the fall nursing
tuition. Exception: Students who receive advanced standing and do not pay
full fall 2nd year nursing tuition will be required to pay PSU directly
for their HDFS 129 course at the published price per credit. Students who
have completed HDFS 129 will not have tuition reduced.
***PSU tuition is set in August of each year for the following September
through August academic year. The PSU price per credit
listed is an estimate for the 2007-2008 year.
Freshman students will be billed by Penn State University
only. All financial aid will be administered through Penn
State's Aid Office for that year. Junior and Senior students
will be billed by The Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing
only. All financial aid for Junior and Senior year will be administered
through the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.
A $25.00 fee will be charged to reactivate a previously reviewed application.
Costs are subject to increase at any time. Notes: Junior Year -Nursing Courses
- Students are expected to order at least two school uniforms prior to beginning the second year. The estimated cost of the uniforms is $200.
Proper clinical shoes, waterproof wristwatch with a second hand, and stethoscope must also be purchased. Information will be provided.
- Students are required to have a health examination and certain immunizations before starting the Second (junior) year. It is the student's
responsibility to assume the financial cost of these examinations. Health forms and specific directions are sent to students four months
prior to the start of the Junior year. Students are expected to have their own health insurance coverage.
Proof of medical insurance coverage is required prior to beginning nurses courses.
- Students are expected to purchase all required textbooks and supplies needed to begin each Nursing Course.
Textbooks purchased for Fall Term will also be used throughout all Nursing Terms.
The estimated cost of the textbooks is $800 for Fall of Second (junior) year, and an additional $400 for Senior year.
- Students are required to have a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, a Criminal Record Check and a
Negative Drug Screen completed prior to beginning the Nursing Courses. Positive results could prevent matriculation
into nursing courses. Further information will be provided.
